Ordering a new bike is exciting and at Ribble, we make sure the process is as smooth as the first ride. Every bike is hand-assembled by our expert mechanics, carefully packaged, and delivered with minimal setup required. Here’s everything you can expect when your Ribble arrives.
How Your Ribble Arrives
Your bike is built, tested, and given a full pre-delivery inspection before being boxed up.
- UK deliveries: Your bike will arrive with both wheels fitted. Depending on the model, the handlebars and seat post may already be installed too.
- International deliveries: To keep shipping safe, your bike will arrive with the wheels removed.
- Inside the box, you’ll also find a complimentary tool kit with a torque wrench, Allen with torx bits, and a pedal spanner to help you get set up.
Unboxing Your Bike
Use a pair of sharp scissors to carefully remove the packaging — avoid knives, as they can damage the frame. If you notice any transit damage, contact our customer service team within 48 hours.
Simple Setup Steps
1. Fit the Handlebars
- Two-piece bar & stem: Reattach the bars using the stem faceplate and torque evenly in a cross pattern.
- Integrated bar & stem: Slide the bar assembly back onto the steerer, fit the top cap, and tighten bolts to the correct torque.
2. Fit the Front Wheel (if required)
- Disc brake bikes: Insert the thru-axle and tighten to 10Nm.
- Rim brake bikes: Slot in the quick-release skewer and secure until there’s firm resistance when closing the lever.
Caution: Don’t pull the brake lever without a wheel or pad spacer in place.
3. Insert the Seat post
- Depending on your bike, this will use either a wedge system or an external collar. Tighten to the torque values printed on your frame.
- If your bike is fitted with Shimano Di2, connect the battery cable to the seat post before inserting.
4. Fit the Pedals
Pedals are rider-specific and not supplied as standard. If you’ve ordered some, grease the threads and screw in by hand first before tightening with a pedal spanner or Allen key. Remember: right side = clockwise, left side = anti-clockwise.
Electronic Gears
- Shimano Di2: Pre-calibrated and charged. Use the E-Tube app for diagnostics, firmware updates, or customisation.
- SRAM AXS: Fully wireless, ready to ride, and paired with the SRAM AXS app for setup and updates.
Before Your First Ride
- Check rear derailleur alignment (look from behind - pulleys should sit directly under the sprockets).
- Inflate tyres to the recommended pressures on the sidewall.
- Double-check all bolts are torqued to the correct settings.
Ongoing Care
- Keep your chain clean and lubricated.
- Avoid clamping carbon frames in a workstand — always clamp by the seatpost.
- Never use a pressure washer to clean your bike.
- Book in for a service every six months, or more often if riding heavily through winter.
